Retro scopping

So today we took some film frames and placed them into photo shop to draw over each frame, this was done in order to gain a better understanding of how traditional animators used reference in order to get clearer and more fluid movement in their animation (Such as Disney's 2D animated film Sleeping Beauty)

I first take some film footage and drew points of where the dancer's joints are at, I placed rulers at the edges to keep track of where the center of the frame is at.

Than I drew lines of movement of the arms , legs and spine, this allows me to keep track of where each body part is at and can be used to create more dynamic 2D animation or as a reference for 3D movement.

I than added some blinking void eyes to the windows, which was me experimenting with blinking animation though I don't think it feels natural and goes by too fast, losing the effect I wanted it to have.

And a rainbow puddle by using gradient , though it turned out ugly and is unpleasant to look at as the animation styles clash with each other in a clunky way.

Than gave the boombox flapping wings and halo, just to add some more action and personality to it , plus I thought it'd be cute and be a good excuse to add some more frame by frame animation.
